I am an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at San Francisco State University. I have several years of research experience investigating the behavioral aspects of nutrition, and cultural and socioeconomic determinants of health in various communities, particularly South Asians. I am currently leading several projects towards understanding factors associated with food insecurity in higher education and designing innovative strategies to improve food security and food literacy. I am especially interested in utilizing technology and community-based participatory research towards the development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition programs for diverse populations.
