I am a public health physician and health economist by training. I studied at Dhaka Medical College (MD), Harvard School of Public Health (MPH), and Tulane School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine (PhD). I am the Founder/CEO of SHK Global Health. My passion is health justice for all and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. I have a wide range of experience administering and leading public health program, policy, evaluation, research, advocacy, and coalition building projects in multi-cultural settings in the US, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. I have extensive experience on health and healthcare disparities affecting underserved communities such as African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic/Latinos, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders. My expertise topics include: dental, diabetes, cancer, reproductive health, vaccination, workforce, pipeline, care coordination, provider network, teaching, training, and non-profit and government sectors. My current research focuses on Bangladeshi and other South Asian Americans. Currently I am developing the research program for Bangladesh Medical Association of North American (BMANA). I developed the initial community facing research programs at Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) and National Council of Asian Pacific Islander Physicians (NCAPIP).
