Phillip Yang, MD, MA is a psychiatry resident at the University of California, San Francisco. He is interested in an academic career as a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Dr. Yang’s career interests revolve around health equity, childhood trauma, cultural medicine, and global health. Some areas he has published in include youth-based community-based participatory research, mental health in individuals experiencing homelessness, antiracism, adverse childhood experiences, and cultural/traditional herb usage in minority populations. For AAPI research, Dr. Yang aims to promote AAPI representation and disrupt AAPI data aggregation. Clinically, Dr. Yang is interested in serving Mandarin-speaking immigrants and facilitating the implementation of mental health services in Asia. On the weekends, you can find him running at Golden Gate Park, enjoying the diversity of Asian food in the Bay, and relaxing at tea and coffee shops.
