Morgan H. Vien is a Doctor of Public Health student at University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health. Morgan is Research Associate at Health Research for Action (HRA) center, affiliated with UC Berkeley. She received her Master of Public Health in Health and Social Behavior from UC Berkeley and her Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science with minors in Biology and Sociology from Santa Clara University.
Morgan’s research focuses on chronic disease prevention, precision public health and artificial intelligence, health equity, population health, public-private partnerships, governance, and government regulations. At HRA, Morgan collaborates with the team on diverse projects – some include health services research and environmental health sciences studies. Previously, she worked in partnership with Asian American patients and the team at an internal medicine office to develop a program for prevention of type 2 diabetes in Asian American patients with prediabetes. The program, which achieved recognition from the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program, consisted of culturally and linguistically concordant medical care as well as curriculum adapted from and approved by the CDC’s National Diabetes Prevention Program. Morgan is the author of peer-reviewed publications on a range of health topics such as structural factors and Vietnamese American health, community interventions, and risk communications.
