I am an assistant professor in the Department of Community Health and Prevention, Dornsife School of Public Health with a secondary appointment in the Division of Graduate Nursing, College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University. I joined Drexel as a faculty member of the NIH FIRST (Faculty Institutional Recruitment for Sustainable Transformation) program. I am a social and behavioral scientist focused on understanding multi-level determinants of commercial tobacco use disparities and leveraging health communication science to help reduce these disparities and promote health equity through community-engaged, mixed-methods, and experimental approaches. Ongoing projects include integrating a tobacco screening initiative in the Chinatown Community Clinic in Philadelphia, examining cancer-related beliefs among Chinese speaking adults, and understanding alcohol-related beliefs among Asian American young adults.
