I am a Professor of Public Health, in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Arts at University of California, Merced, with an appointment in the Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences at UC San Francisco. I am an epidemiologist and qualitative researcher who focuses on the social determinants of health, in particular place and health. I have conducted survey and qualitative studies of ethnically diverse study participants, including Asian Americans, to develop survey measurement tools that are relevant for ethnically diverse populations. I was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Interdisciplinary Research Leadership fellow.
