Cindy J. Huang, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Kaiser Permanente Northern California (KPNC), Division of Research (DOR). She received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Her research interests center on the impact of immigration-related social determinants of health and cultural factors, specifically language, acculturation, and parent-child communication, on the mental health of immigrant youth and families. In her postdoctoral fellowship, she is investigating the intersection of mental health and chronic health outcomes among diverse youth and families. Her goal is to develop interventions to help reduce disparities in healthcare access and improve health outcomes for immigrant youth and families.
