Anthony L. Bui, M.D., M.P.H. (he/him) is an Acting Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Bui teaches and practices general pediatrics at Harborview Medical Center and is an Investigator at the Seattle Children’s Research Institute, Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development. As a physician-scientist focused on health equity, Dr. Bui is dedicated to tackling mental health disparities among children from immigrant and refugee families, particularly those of Asian American descent. His current work aims to understand and address barriers to mental healthcare among Vietnamese youth of immigrant families utilizing community-engaged research and intervention design. He has also conducted research related to healthcare spending, childhood adversity, and community safety and injury prevention. Dr. Bui obtained his B.A. in Economics and Public Health from UC Berkeley, M.P.H. in health metrics from UW, and M.D. from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed his pediatric residency and chief residency at UW and Seattle Children’s and his health metrics research fellowship at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.
