Associate Professor | University of Washington School of Social Work

I am an Associate Professor in the University of Washington School of Social Work. My research focuses on examining psychosocial factors that influence older adults’ health and mental health outcomes, advance care planning, and dementia care. As an applied gerontologist, I am dedicated to promoting healthy aging in diverse communities. My research is structured around three interconnected areas: 1) identifying factors that influence the wellness of minority older adults, particularly regarding cognitive and mental health, 2) exploring the mechanisms by which social determinants affect their cognitive and mental health, and 3) developing and testing innovative, community-based or technology-assisted interventions designed to promote health equity and foster overall wellness.
