Smita Carroll MD, MBA, MPH is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist with subspecialty training in Complex Family Planning. She is the Director of Complex Family Planning at Lenox Hill Hospital and an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Dr. Carroll is a strong advocate for the provision of patient centered, antiracist, and equitable reproductive healthcare. She is passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion and justice in clinical care provision and in medical education. Dr. Carroll’s research interests include sexual and reproductive health in AANHPI communities, with a focus on mitigating reproductive health stigma and health inequities. Dr. Carroll’s advocacy interests include reproductive justice advocacy and health policy, always centering health equity for pregnancy-capable, historically underserved individuals. As an Indian American OBGYN and the daughter of Indian immigrants, she is passionate about promoting knowledge and autonomy among Asian American communities surrounding their reproductive health.
