Edith Chen

I am a professor of Asian American Studies at California State University, Northridge. Trained as a sociologist, my teaching and research interests include Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, immigration, and health, with a focus on type II diabetes and obesity. I am one of the Principal Investigators for a pilot project that examines the links between acculturation, assimilation, and type 2 diabetes and obesity in Asian American populations in California, using data from the California Health Interview Survey.
