Nhung Nguyen, PhD is a behavioral science and mHealth researcher at the University of California, San Francisco. Her research program focuses on reducing substance use and related health disparities among at-risk and priority populations. Her work has provided nuanced understandings of substance use behaviors by employing a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods. Her current research projects focuses on applying mobile health technology and machine learning to develop e-cigarette vaping cessation for young populations. Dr. Nguyen directs the smartphone-based research lab on tobacco and substance use for health equity – the HEARTY lab.
